HERODION
L. LOVINO
Born
in Davao of Cebuano parentage. A self-taught artist, whose style
has been inspired by both Amorsolo and Botong Francisco.
Won
awards in exhibits sponsored by the British Art Foundation. Had his
one-man shows at the Holiday Inn Manila, National Museum, EDSA Shangrila
Plaza, San Pablo Medical Center, Philippine General Hospital and at the
Manila Peninsula. Group shows at the Philamlife Art center, Asiatic
Art Gallery and at Victoria Plaza Hotel. His
works are found in the collections of former CB Gov. Gabby Singson, former
PAL President Roman Cruz, Westmont Bank, Global Bank and at the PNB Escolta
Lobby. He is also collected by corporate art investors. He
has been commissioned to do works for foreign collectors like Henry Wee,
Australian journalist Jack Paghaso, and Bow Horlin. His
works were included in the book published by the Mariposa Foundation under
a section titled: "The World of Lovino in Idiomism -- A Symbol of Philippine
Art." Lovino
excels in oil and his subjects depict the Filipina caring for her baby
or at work -- mostly with fruits, flowers, plants and doves.
