RAMONCITO D. DOPLON


Born November 1953 in Lanao del Sur.  PWU Fine Arts.  Won several awards in AAP art competitions.  Participated in exhibits of Philippine art in Sidney, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and the Vatican. Listed in the Collier’s Encyclopedia of “Who’s Who in Philippine Art”. A merit awardee in an art competition conducted by the State of the Vatican and was a Ford Foundation grantee. Exhibited his works locally at the Philamlife Bldg., CCP, National Museum,  AAP shows, Manila 5-star hotels, Ayala Museum, among others. His paintings, mostly in acrylic on canvas, or Arches paper,  or on board are found in the collection of Makati’s elite lawyers, the Forbes Park crowd among others, Central Bank of the Philippines and the National Museum. Stands out among Filipino artists for his spontaneous juxtaposition of contrasting colors that hint of his Maranaw heritage : blue, purple, brown and orange.  Subjects cover the Filipina,  Mother and Child, plants and fruits,  and non-representational abstractions.
